Workshop agenda

Workshop agenda. All times are UK time, GMT.
Time (GMT)SessionWhat you will practise
09:30–10:00Define the task and learner starting pointChoose 1 manageable workflow and specify what learners should do afterwards. Check prerequisites, access and likely difficulties. Distinguish what they need to understand from what they need to practise.
Your output: An observable outcome and a short prerequisite checklist.
10:00–10:45Make the demonstration teachableStructure a product explanation around a task. Practise signposting steps, explaining a decision and showing learners how to check their result. Create an activity brief with timing and success criteria.
Your output: A demonstration outline and a concise learner-practice brief.
10:45–11:30Deliver a short training segmentEach participant delivers a 5-minute segment while peers act as learners. Receive brief feedback on outcome, explanation and instructions. Observe what learners actually attempt and note 1 moment where the teaching could become clearer.
Your output: An observed micro-session and a specific delivery priority.
11:30–12:30Lunch breakOptional 10-minute 1-to-1 video check-in with Paul to review feedback and focus your afternoon practice.
12:30–13:15Observe practice and respond to difficultyWork through a learner missing a step, taking a different route or asking a question beyond the brief. Practise checking their reasoning, giving useful feedback and arranging technical validation when needed. Build debrief questions around the learning outcome.
Your output: Observation prompts, feedback language and a short debrief sequence.
13:15–14:00Refine and redeliver the key momentEach participant repeats a selected explanation, activity instruction or debrief using the feedback. Peers try the revised task and report what helped. Compare the attempts against the same delivery criteria and identify the next refinement.
Your output: A revised delivery segment and a clearer practice brief.
14:00–14:30Prepare for your next learner groupComplete a concise session plan covering the outcome, demonstration, practice, debrief and access checks. Choose 2 actions for your next training session and define how you will check whether learners can perform the task.
Your output: A practical session plan and 2 delivery actions.

Workshop questions

Must I bring a working software system?

An approved training environment, a short illustrated workflow or a supplied task can support the exercise. Choose something peers can understand and attempt quickly.

How does this differ from a sales demo workshop?

Product training helps learners perform a task themselves. A presales demonstration helps a buyer evaluate relevant capability and decide a useful next step.

Does the workshop award a trainer qualification?

This is practical development with feedback on a short teaching segment. It does not award an accredited trainer qualification.
