Business Background (20 years)

An American, who has worked in Human Resources for over 20 years, with extensive experience in Learning & Development. He has worked both in house for companies like United Airlines, the Peninsula Group, Applied Materials, Siemens and Mercer, and also as an external consultant, with many of the Fortune 500 companies as clients, a wealth of experience that he brings to the table when he delivers for any client. Develop and successfully implement business plans. Coordinate the start up of a new business, from renovations to recruitment to initial policy creation. Manage HR/Finance /Administrative/IT functions. Assist in successful high-level contract negotiations, creating huge annual savings. Lead teams to create results. Manage multiple direct reports. Manage employee relations, employee communication, recruitment, trade union coordination, labor bureau coordination, and staff development. Coordinate corporate community affairs. Assess training needs and work with employees and managers to develop effective proposals based on those needs. Develop, deliver and evaluate training programs, both traditional classroom and elearning. His main experience is in China, but he has also been employed in the hi-tech industry in Silicon Valley. Over his career, Dan has worked at various levels of management, managing up to 5 direct reports. An American who has been working and living in China for more than 20 years.

A a veteran facilitator, trainer and coach. As a Facilitator, he applies this great depth of business experience to make his facilitation meaningful and relevant. He also utilizes active learning principles to effectively engage his participants. The emphasis in his delivery is always on sharing experiences and using experiential learning techniques...he firmly believes learning by doing is the most effective way of developing new skills and behaviors. As a Coach, he has been certified in providing 360° Feedback, and has given such feedback to dozens of managers across China. He is also achieved his ICF ACC certification. And as a Master Trainer, he is exceptionally passionate about improving business skills for people working in China, and now specializes in topics around Leadership and Communication. Of course, due to his vast experience, he is also is proficient in providing Innovation, Cultural Intelligence and Team Building training. Being fluent in Mandarin, Dan is able to Facilitate, Coach, and Train equally well in either English or Chinese (Mandarin).
